The Editor’s pick of videos by some awfully talented people.
Ever since television appeared, kids have looked for ways to play with their cartoon heroes. In the old days, most of us used a neat gadget called ‘imagination,’ but unfortunately for the TV execs, it was nearly impossible to cash in these activities. Video games not being invented yet, they turned to the action figure. Using sturdy materials like plastic, rubber, and more plastic, they crafted mini versions of our superheroes that could move their arms (a little) and even stand up! (with a little glue on the feet)
Of course, once the game industry took off, action figures seem rather lame in comparison. So they slowly disappeared, except for the lucky few, still in original containers, that never see the light of day. (It lessens the value!)
But now the circle is complete. Thanks to the magic of the internet, museum curators and other hoarders of ancient artifacts can take out their toys, and share them with the world.
Take Jon Clarke for example:
Riddle the Crock
But the true action figure virtuoso is the aptly named ItsJustSomeRandomGuy on YouTube. Out of almost 40 videos, starring action figures like the Hulk, Spiderman, Supes, and many more, his most popular series are made in the format of the Mac vs PC commercials.
Superman v. Spiderman
and this one;
I’m Batman
