Inspiration
by Benjamin Ross

This may seem like an odd post. It is not about a product, a web site, film, or any specific thing. It is about inspiration. It’s a funny thing, inspiration. It’s never quite the same from one person to the next. A painting, a piece of music, a photograph, a poster… They may be universally recognized as excellent, they may inspire many, but never in exactly the same way. One person walks away with dreams of youth and another with yearning for time long since lost.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and perhaps it is true, in part, as much as anything may be true in part. But inspiration is a genuinely personal experience. That is one of the things that makes this whole project so fascinating. The variety of inspiration. Several of us can look at the same photo, watch the same movie and have very different ideas of what to do with it. What we all agree on is that it should be done with excellence.

There is a great well of ideas to be poured out, funneled down, distilled, and sometimes aged until something marvelous flows forth and warms you all over. As I and others work on concepts, layouts, photos, and designs to bring the vision of RedFence into visual being I am glad of the abundance of inspiration. A libation to creativity; poured out upon the pages, and I cannot help but wonder, how will you be inspired?
