First Morning
by Joel Champagne

After arriving in classy San Diego, taking advantage of IDW’s lovely free bar, and looking for a nice sleeping place where the cops wouldn’t hassle us, I drifted off to a blissful sleep. Interrupted only by the trains rumbling past every hour or so, the loss of feeling in my lower body, and the odd disappearance of James, I awoke refreshed and ready. Well, at least I was ready.

After boarding the trolley, we made our way to the Convention Center. After a rousing game of “get pointed in the wrong direction by people who can only communicate by shouting,” I finally made my way to the press check-in. After obliviously standing in line next to Joe Hill (a rising star we’d tried in vain to find the night before), I reached the desk with my badge on it. I was then informed that, “We aren’t open yet, how did you get in here?”. Finally, I received my badge, and made my way to the press room.

This is going to be the greatest weekend ever.
